Tanya gets what Tanya wants

So, Tanya, my awesome fiancĂ©e, wants me to update my blog. Here’s an update.

Our ’save the dates’ are being put together slowly but surely. Our goal is to have them done around Thanksgiving so we can give them to our parents to include in Christmas cards. Saving_on_postage++

Last weekend, Tanya and I went to here hometown for a funeral, which wasn’t cool. However, she did get to try on her wedding dress (I had to sit out in the car). Unfortunately, she will probably need to get some alterations done. So, I guess the whole deal wasn’t too good for her.

On the 13th, Tanya and I have been together for 20 months, which is pretty cool. 20 is also Tanya’s favorite number so she liked that. I guess we will have to be sure to celebrate our 42nd anniversary since that is my favorite number.

Coming up for me this weekend and the coming week:

  • An ACM presentation at my university. Talking about Ubuntu and some of it applications. Geared towards the general user. Trying to advocate Linux usage.
  • Doing a socket programming assignment for my Data Comm and Networking class. The prof provided starting code, shouldn’t be too hard to finish it up.
  • Watching the Packer game.

Also, in order for Tanya to write content about the wedding (and not be content on my personal blog), I set up another blog at jonhoman.com/wedding for her to “own”. So, hopefully Tanya is better about updating than I.
