ACM Presentation

I, along with 2 friends, gave an ACM presentation on Ubuntu today. I think it went over pretty well. The presentation might have been a little too short, but was too long when they gave a similar presentation last semester. We had a few good conversations after the presentation, so it was a success in my book.

We had two professors attend, which was pretty cool. Hopefully in the future, there will be some more technical Linux presentations. I am thinking about doing a presentation on getting involved in open-source software. I think that would be pretty sweet.

I have a question for my two readers: We used Google Docs to create the presentation. Not Powerpoint or OpenOffice’s powerpoint app. Does anyone know of a way to get the .ppt from Google Docs? I really hope this is possible. If not, I will probably never use Google’s online stuff again.

Right on Jon! Was your presentation recorded? Can I take a look at your slides?

    Lloyd,

The presentation was not recorded. I didn’t think about that. Oversight on my part.

You can see the slides on Google Docs. Let me know your Gmail address and I’ll let you see it. The slides aren’t anything special; it was a pretty low-tech presentation.

    Lloyd,

I looked into this again and I’m not sure I can get you the slides because 1) for whatever reason it seems that Google docs does not let you download the .ppt file so you can have a local copy and 2) I am not the owner of the file so I cannot invite other people to collaborate, etc.

I have tried to get in touch with the owner of the file, but he might be offline or something. When school starts back up, I’ll see what I can do.
