Looking back at 2007

2007 was a pretty big year for me, as I hit several big personal milestones.

In March, Tanya and I celebrated our one year anniversary. That was pretty cool and pretty quickly we will celebrate two years together. What I find interesting is that March 2009 will our 3rd year together, but probably won’t be celebrated. Instead August will be our anniversary month.

Also in March, I accepted an internship with Maverick Software Consulting to do some work for Thomson. I am at the tail end of my second project and I am excited about the next. I am glad for all the experience and connections this internship has give me. I also continue to do some work for Flock. The fall semester didn’t leave much free time (except for Sunday’s but I filled that with several hours of football), but coming this spring I hope to find some time to help out with support.

In June, Tanya and I got engaged. That was a pretty fun time, but we didn’t waste any time getting the planning started. Not once have I regretted this decision and am looking forward to getting hitched.

A lot of fun times were had with many friends. A couple stand out in my mind. A few weeks ago, Tanya, the housemates and I threw a Christmas party at my house. It turned out great and I think a lot of fun was had. Thanks to everyone who come, I hope you all had fun. We also had a few fires (in the firepit) at my place. They were always a good time and when the weather is nice again we’ll do it again. Oh, and the Halo 3 parties were always fun. It was a blast having 12 people playing in the same house. It reminded me of the LAN parties I went to in high school.

Thanks to all my friends and family for some great memories this year. I am looking forward to 2008, especially to getting married, attending friend’s weddings and seeing a bunch of friends graduating.
